Yes its back. This is like the BIG BANG THEORY. The IPL auction for season 2 got bigger and costlier. $1.55m was the premier bid for Pietersen by the Bangalore Royal Challengers and the same amount for Flintoff by the Chennai Super Kings. This was the craziest of all news in the past few days. At these moments of recession, people showering such enormous amounts of money to buy players who are going to hang about just for a few matches is truly atrocious. Mr Mallaya’s UB group, as it is under huge looses. He has had to withdraw a few of his Kingfisher airlines as a result of lack of resources. And here this man is acting like a one eyed JACK and showering $ like as if he owns a currency printing factory. I know that in this part of the world Cricket is LARGER THAN LIFE. But this way of throwing money is not the right thing to do especially in these times of recession. Pietersen does add the glamour quotient to the team and what Mr Mallaya represents. But at such a humongous price????? All we can do is wait and watch. IPL is indeed the only entity that is ‘RESSION-FREE’ or rather ‘RESSION-PROOF’.. And what about Mashrafe Mortaza? An unheard hero. A name than suddenly turned into a shocker. The Bangladeshi seamer was bought by the Kolkata Knight Riders for a price 12 times above his base price. Fortune definitely favored Mortaza, who must currently be even above cloud #9…..
