Unsatisfied Occassion

31st May, 2008
A semi final of a T20 match is expected to be the bang bang theory. Every ball is meant to be hit out of the ground. But that wasn’t the case with the IPL T20 semi final. Though all the ingredients were present to make it a perfect bang bang theory, it wasn’t stirred enough and the salt was not perfect to make it the prefect dish for the perfect night. Other than Y Pathan, Shane Watson and a few others who managed to put on a show, others preferred to stay mum. In the first semi between Delhi Daredevils and Rajasthan Royals, the Royals went in as the favorites and came out victorious. Though Delhi was expected to put on a good fight, they failed all their supporters, making the match look one sided. The second semi on the other hand was quite surprising. Punjab Kings were the favourites. They were the perfect team to make a perfect semi final match. With the best batting and bowling and fielding line up, Punjab made the perfect team to win the finals. But, Dhoni’s men had other plans for them. At the moment whatever Dhoni is touching is turning out to be gold. That’s what precisely happened. When it mattered the most, Punjab failed to deliver and Chennai took better of the situation.

Now its all down to the finals. Will it be the men in yellow or the men in purple? The answer will be got by the end of the day. My money is all on the Royals, but looking at Dhoni’s run in the IPL, never know what he has up in his sleeve. Lets wait and watch.
